The short version: We collect only what we need for FEC compliance and to run the platform. We never sell your data. We never share your contact information with campaigns. Campaigns get your donation — not your email, phone, or address.

1. Who We Are

VoteROI is operated by VoteROI.com LLC. Political contributions are processed by American Muckrakers PAC, Inc., a non-profit corporation registered with the NC Secretary of State and a registered PAC with the FEC (American Muckrakers II, C00896951).

2. Information We Collect

When you donate:

Full name, mailing address, email address
Employer and occupation (required by federal law for donations over $200)
Payment information (processed by Stripe — we never store card numbers)
Donation amount, date, and race(s) selected

When you create a Donor IQ account:

Email address and password (hashed)
Name and profile information you provide
Subscription billing information (processed by Stripe)

Automatically collected:

IP address and browser type (for security)
Pages visited and features used (to improve the platform)
Session data (to keep you logged in)

3. How We Use Your Information

To process your donation and disburse funds to campaigns
To comply with FEC reporting requirements
To send donation confirmations and receipts
To provide Donor IQ membership features
To send VoteROI race alerts and updates (with your consent)
To detect and prevent fraud and abuse

4. What We Do NOT Do

We never:Share your email, phone, or mailing address with campaigns or candidates
Sell your personal data to any third party
Add you to campaign email lists without your explicit consent
Use your data for advertising on other platforms

5. FEC Public Disclosure

Under federal law, donations over $200 to federal candidates in a calendar year are publicly disclosed in FEC filings — including your name, city, employer, and occupation. This is a federal legal requirement. VoteROI cannot prevent this disclosure. Donations under $200 are not individually disclosed.

6. Data Sharing

We share your information only with: Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email), the FEC (as required by law), and law enforcement (when required by valid legal process).

7. Cookies & Tracking

VoteROI uses only essential cookies: authentication cookies (to keep you logged in), security cookies, and Stripe cookies (fraud prevention during payment). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics that share your data.

8. California Residents (CCPA)

California residents may request to know what personal data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of sale (we do not sell data). Contact info@americanmuckrakers.com with "CCPA Request" in the subject line.

9. International Users (GDPR)

VoteROI is intended for US citizens and permanent residents only. Only US citizens and lawfully admitted permanent residents may make political donations under federal law.

10. Security

We use HTTPS encryption, bcrypt password hashing, HttpOnly cookies, Stripe for PCI-compliant payment processing, and rate limiting on all authentication endpoints.
